Discover the highest active volcano in Europe with a guided trek to the summit with your authorized alpine and volcanological guide, immersing you in landscapes of exceptional beauty surrounded by craters and lava flows. After checking your equipment and a brief rundown of the day's plan, your adventure begins with an awe-inspiring trek to the very top of Etna.

Using a cable car and a 4x4 bus, you'll ascend to approximately, 2800 metres above sea level. From there, a two-hour walk through lava flows and lunar-like landscapes will take you to the summit craters of Etna. Here, you'll traverse the dramatic rim of the Central Crater, confront the dizzyingly high Northeast Crater, and witness the renowned Southeast Crater - known for its recent and spectacular eruptions. In addition to the vast summit craters, you'll experience a one-of-a-kind volcanic environment, complete with gas emissions, volcanic bombs, and the ground's dazzling colours caused by the sublimation of various elements, including sulphur.

During your descent, you'll visit the Barbagallo craters and traverse a lava flow channel. Finally, with the Etna cable car, you'll return to your starting point at 2500 metres above sea level.

Extra fees to be paid on site:

Cable car tickets and Unimog 4x4 tickets should be paid in cash on the spot (60€ per person)

Know in advance:

This excursion is aimed at moderately trained hikers who are comfortable hiking on sandy or uneven terrain
The tour may undergo changes depending on the level of criticality of the volcanic activity
At the guide's discretion, the excursion may undergo variations in regard to weather conditions, environmental factors, or possible volcanic risks
The guide is entitled to stop the excursion for any reason that could compromise the safety or physical integrity of an individual or the group
This excursion may be cancelled if the minimum number of 4 participants is not reached
Please wear the listed items and bring an extra T-shirt, jacket, backpack (10-20L), water, snacks, and a packed lunch
All guests are covered by insurance
Maximum people in each group is about 10 participants
