Inside the Accademia Gallery, you will discover everything there is to know about the statue of David that Michelangelo sculpted over the course of two years. You will then walk through the streets of the city centre and visit all the main squares, such as Piazza della Signoria and Piazza della Repubblica. The guide will tell you the story of the noble Medici family and you will also learn about Ponte Vecchio, the only bridge over the Arno that survived the Second World War, before leading you to the Duomo. Here, you'll be able to discover the history of the church and admire the beautiful Baptistry door.
After a short lunch break, immerse yourself even more in Renaissance art by entering Italy's most visited museum, the Uffizi. Once home to the Medici family's massive art collection, this gallery is now an international museum. The artists whose works hang on the walls are the real stars: the museum has over 100 rooms with works by Caravaggio, Titian and many other great Italian artists.Your guide will tell you the secrets and stories of several important works, such as Raphael's Self-Portrait, Spring and Botticelli's iconic Birth of Venus.
