Praia Grande is sought after by lovers of water sports Surf and Bodyboard. At the northern end of Praia Grande, there is one of the largest saltwater pools in Europe, about 100 meters long, belonging to the Hotel das Arribas. As a curiosity, be sure to observe the traces of the presence of dinosaurs that are recorded on the south cliff of the beach, where a deposit of eleven tracks of footprints is perfectly identifiable.

Praia das Maçãs is the most urbanized in the municipality of Sintra. The bathing area has several restaurants, cafes, bars, shops, and a saltwater swimming pool.

Azenhas do Mar beach is located in a picturesque valley with a series of ancient pools carved into the rock. It is very popular mainly for its natural pools.

Beaches of fine golden sand bathed by the Atlantic Ocean offer excellent conditions for bathing, and water sports such as all types of surfing, fishing, and paragliding.
